Gretchen has her B.A. in Art History from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and received her TEFL certificate from Oxford Seminars. She has experience teaching in classroom settings and one-on-one settings. Gretchen spent a year teaching English in Gwangju, South Korea at a private English Academy. There she gained experience working with students of all levels and ages, which focused on reading, writing, speaking, English exams, etc… She also has worked in the American school system as a substitute teacher and tutored in a variety of subjects. Gretchen also has experience teaching online to students in China and training other ESL teachers in workshops.
When Gretchen isn’t working, she is photographing, traveling, improving her German, and visiting art museums. She moved the Berlin to experience the vibrant culture and the arts while still pursuing her passion of ESL teaching. She enjoys learning about cultures and incorporating her hobbies into her teaching to help relate and excite her students. She can’t wait to meet you!
